National Aerospace Centre
The overall strategic objective of the National Aerospace Centre is to become a sustainable Centre of Excellence providing a service to national stakeholders in the Aerospace sector with particular focus on supporting the continued competitiveness of local industry and contributing to its growth, and to contribute to Maltese and European Research and Innovation.
The National Aerospace Centre, NAC, was set up with in accordance to LN 68 of 2014. Specifically this states that it is an Agency which shall be responsible for development, research and innovation in the aerospace industry and related policy. The Centre shall have a separate legal personality and capable of entering into contracts, employing personnel and managing property for its operations.
It is expected that the NAC shall participate (or lead) public-private initiatives to enhance the aerospace industry and give advice on matters relating to the aerospace industry while also supporting training programs to facilitate the aerospace industry. This will result in NAC promoting investment in the national aerospace industry. Furthermore the NAC shall assist in the development of a national aerospace policy, represent the Government on matters relating to the aerospace industry and ensure necessary coordination in the implementation of aerospace policy.
